What Are the Akashic Records?

Cosmic Library

Central Database of Records

What are the akashic records? “Akasha” or “akasa” is the Sanskrit word for astral light. Edgar Cayce (Clairvoyant and Healer, 1877-1945) called the akashic records God’s Book of Remembrance (Reading 1650-1), and The Bible refers to it as the Book of Life (Revelations: 20:12-15). We resonate with the idea that the akashic records are the material universe’s non-local, central database (e.g. the cloud) or energetic archives – preserving past lives, current experiences, and potential future paths. They’re considered the memory of universal consciousness – containing every thought, word, action, feeling, and event that has and could possibly occur in the material universe.

Like any system, perhaps each galaxy houses it’s own localized database that feeds into the central network which feeds into Source. Could this somehow correlate to the concepts of parallel universes (records holding the blueprint for all possible realities), social memory complexes (communal, non-local memory), and morphic resonance (non-local, informing field)?

Our research suggests that the akashic records are essentially light imprinted as vibrational or holographic blueprints within akasha (ether), hence the name. Because ether is said to be perfectly conductive and has zero resistance, these vibrational blueprints are never lost. They’re permanently recorded into the etheric density of the material universe. This means the records aren’t just somewhere in another dimension. They’re encoded in the very space between atoms.

On the other hand, because our pesky minds need a subjective way to interpret where the records are located, our research suggests that they exist at a specific mathematical address known as the 6th dimension — usually associated with the 6th density (the density of unity).

Accessing the Akashic Records

Because the akashic records preserve past lives, current experiences, and potential future paths, they can offer insights into the soul’s journey, life purpose, and karmic patterns. Reading the akashic records is not limited to mystics, mediums, or our higher selves. Everyone has the potential to tune in to and access the akashic records to gain clarity and guidance as Edgar Cayce and Helena Blavatsky (Mystic, Theosophy Co-Founder, 1831 – 1891) did. For example, the Law of One explains that Edgar Cayce was able to tap into our galaxy’s akashic records, specifically the potential social memory complex of Earth (14:32). How does this work?

The akashic records are said to be accessible through meditation, focused intention, or higher-consciousness guidance. Perhaps when we tune our internal frequency to the akashic records address in the 6th dimension, the environment manifests as a plane of existence that looks like a library, hall of records, or a vast digital network. What if the environment could adapt to our level of awareness so we can process the records? In this sense, accessing the records would simply be a matter of increasing our consciousness level/density (concentration of love/light) so we can read or process the high-frequency data that’s already present in that dimension.

While Edgar Cayce used his gift to access the present and help others overcome ailments, Unlocking the Soul affirms that learning solely through the akashic records can be limited. It’s like reading about riding a bicycle versus actually riding a bicycle. It’s thought that having firsthand experiences on schoolhouse planets like Earth is part of the reason why we incarnate. Swami Mukundananda (Bhakti Yog Saint & Yoga Teacher) affirms this by stating there are two types of knowledge: theoretical information and practical realization, with the later being superior (Bhagavad Gita: 4:38). Tapping into the akashic records can be a blessing if used consciously, so enjoy!
