What Are the Different Dimensions?
4 Dimensions
From a mainstream scientific standpoint, the first dimension allows us to perceive one aspect of reality, like length or a straight line. The second dimension allows us to perceive flat shapes like a square. The third dimension adds depth so we’re able to perceive cubes instead of squares and experience reality more through our senses. Ergo, dimensions allow us to perceive reality from different angles. The fourth dimension is thought to be time. However, some argue that time and space are related – that time extends the three-dimensional world – ergo, time would be part of the third dimension.
LL Research actually makes a distinction between space/time and time/space. It suggests space/time is synonymous with visible, physical dimensions, physics, and the 5 senses, while time/space is synonymous with invisible, metaphysical dimensions and the unconscious. Could this somehow coincide with the framework suggesting that time might be the single fundamental property in which all material phenomena occur, not space plus time?
5+ Dimensions
The concept that there could be more than 4 dimensions in the material universe is not new in spiritual and esoteric communities. For example, Matías De Stefano (Consciousness Educator) explains that there are 9 dimensions in his series Initiation. What’s exciting is that the concept of additional dimensions is gaining more and more interest in the mainstream scientific community, specifically metaphysics.
Consider this fellow souls. The Shift of the Ages (C5) explains that there are 8 dimensions due, in part, to the groundbreaking mathematical work of Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887 – 1920, Mathematician). Michio Kaku (Theoretical Physicist) explains that there are at least 9 spatial dimensions and one temporal dimension, which coincides with superstring theory. M-Theory suggests there are 10 spatial dimensions and one temporal dimension. Bosonic string theory suggests as many as 26!
Because higher dimensions are also said to transcend space/time in varying degrees, could this coincide with string theory and M-Theory which suggest that higher dimensions are compact and curled up on themselves at submicroscopic scales? And what would be the nature of these higher dimensions? Perhaps some have different initial conditions. Perhaps others have different initial conditions and laws of physics altogether — and because different laws and conditions can be constructed, anything would be possible.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is one of our most intriguing resources for dimensions, planets, and spatial realms. Their movies have explained dimensions within the context of the multiverse. And we’ve come to discover that sometimes sci-fi movies can contain quite a bit of truth, especially when scientists, professors, or military personnel are consulted. For example, J. Allen Hynek (Astronomer, Ufologist, 1910 – 1986) served as a scientific advisor for the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Both the MU (Marvel Universe) and MCU have referenced at least 9 spatial realms (which are more like planets), a temporal dimension (time), and also a multitude of dimensions including the dark dimension, mirror dimension, ancestral dimension, soul dimension, astral dimension, and Valhalla to name a few. Granted, Marvel’s definition of dimension, plane, and realm may differ slightly from ours and the terms are often used interchangebly, but we get the gist.
While the nature of dimensions is still unclear in the mainstream scientific community, it’s clear to us that we must look beyond Einstein’s block universe, according to the Essentia Foundation. In other words, the term dimension as it is currently defined by the mainstream scientific community is a bit limiting. But there are those who are expanding the concept of dimensions to integrate both space/time and time/space, so that instead of viewing time as a straight, linear line from past to future, we see it as a continuous flow of moments and events — where past, present, and future coexist simultaneously, as mentioned by our fellow souls at Gaia.
