Can Spiritual Guides Interfere or Manipulate?
Manipulation Versus Positive Interference
Dualistic Nature of Aid
We’ve experienced first-hand how guides can respond to our calls for aid (e.g. requests, prayers). They can turn up the volume on our conscience, send uplifting messages our way, and even inspire our creativity. Because of our dualistic nature, a guide is typically associated with or shows an affinity toward one of two natures. The Law of One refers to these two natures or dispositions as service to others (STO) and service to self (STS). The Bhagavad Gita refers to these natures as divine and demonic (16:1-5).
Those with a divine nature are said to embody more positive-oriented qualities like purity of mind, charity, and compassion while those with a demonic nature are said to embody more negative-oriented qualities like hypocrisy, anger, arrogance, conceit, and ignorance. Similarly, the Law of One (51:1) explains there are those who facilitate love and unity in service to others (STO) and those who facilitate fear, control, and separation in service to themselves (STS). We try not to place too much emphasis on positive or negative distinctions as we resonate with the concept that all originates from and leads to Source. However, these types of dualistic distinctions seem to play a vital role in the ascension process in the material universe.
Types of Interference
Do guides manipulate our actions or interfere with our lives? Some of our resources, like Unlocking the Soul, suggest that guides are reluctant to interfere in life challenges unless we specifically call or ask for help. The Law of One explains that the law of confusion (free will) is utterly paramount in the workings of the infinite creation (72:7). As Babaji, guru of Lahiri Mahasaya, explained in Autobiography of a Yogi (34:278), some gurus come whenever they’re needed rather than whenever they’re called. What’s more, given our dualistic nature it’s unlikely that free will is never breached or exploited. As the Bhagavad Gita (16:7) explains, those possessing a demonic nature do not comprehend which actions are proper, neither possessing purity, good conduct, nor truthfulness.
Other resources, like the Law of One, suggest there is some degree of unsolicited interference or positive intervention to protect us from permanent separation from unity (50:5), to protect free will (22:16-21), and to maintain energetic stability and balance (Cosmic Disclosure: S19:E7). The Law of One (16:6-7, 67:26) equates the energetic stability aspect to balancing energy influxes. This ensures the total amount of light available and darkness is balanced so that there’s always a level playing field, specifically for planets experiencing The Choice, like Earth.
Law of Squares
Cosmic Governance
If cosmic interference and governance is needed to maintain the material universe, who is performing this cosmic maintenance? Are there galactic federations that oversee cosmic laws like free will (law of confusion, Law of One: 3:14, 72:7) and govern processes like answering calls (e.g. requests for aid)? Swami Mukundananda (Bhakti Yog Saint & Yoga Teacher) explains that Lord Brahma and celestial gods manipulate the laws of material science to ensure that the material universe maintains stability (Bhagavad Gita, 13:15). So the idea of galactic federations existing isn’t all that far-fetched, especially given humanity’s propensity for politicians and governments. As above, so below; as below, so above (The Kybalion, C:28).
So who are some of these galactic federations? According to the Law of One (7:9), the Council of Saturn acts as guardians of free will. Consider this fellow souls. If the material universe operates on the principles of free will and balance, then it’s likely that other galactic federations like the Guardians, Confederation, and Orion Group are discouraged from intervening on a planet unless they’re called (Law of One, 8:12). How would these calls be governed? The Law of One explains that the Council would use the law of squares (7:1-7).
The law of squares can be interpreted as the strength of a call is based on the number of unified entities squared or doubled. Meaning, if ten entities call out with a unified request, the strength of that call is doubled: Effective Power = (Total Entities Calling) x (Degree of Unity)2.
Law of Squares in Practice
We won’t get into the mathematics associated with the law of squares. So how would it work in practice? Consider this example fellow souls. If the Orion Group argues they have a right to land on a quarantined planet because a powerful group of entities called for them, the Confederation might counter that the unconscious call of great sorrow (a distress signal) from the rest of the population outweighs their call — albeit the unconscious call is more distorted (Law of One, 7:7). Based on this, the Council would calculate the effective power for each to determine if a quarantine window should be opened by the Guardians (cosmic police) so the Orion Group can answer the call.
If the law of squares is indeed in effect, it could have major ramifications. For example, service to others (STO) callers would seem to have a bit of an advantage because of the inherent unity factor. Because the STO path is rooted in consensus, compassion, and the well-being of all, STO callers would be able to more easily achieve a higher level of unity. This is in contrast to service to self (STS) callers whose competing egos could consistently cancel each other out. Think about that for a second. Because of the unity factor, it would be possible for even a small group of dedicated entities to summon enough light to offset the chaos of larger groups.
What would the law of squares mean for STS callers? STS callers would find the law of squares much harder to master. Since the STS path is built on conquest, fear, and competition (Law of One: 8:12-14, 16:17), collective unity would be much harder to maintain. This would suggest that STS callers could rarely use the law of squares doubling capability to its full advantage. Because STS callers would struggle to unify (Law of One, 7:14), perhaps they would rely on the intensity of one individual with immense willpower and focus to generate and amplify calls.
Positive Interference
The Law of One (70:11)suggests that guides and galactic federations (helper groups) who facilitate love through service to others (STO) will generally help only when asked or called so they don’t infringe on free will. Unlike service to self (STS) helper groups, which offer negative catalysts to bolster their control over others, STO helper groups offer positive catalysts to empower seekers to be their own masters. Essentially, STO helper groups send love/light (Law of One, 21:16-17) and provide tools (meditation techniques, philosophical insights) so entities can spiritually ascend through their own willpower.
How would STO helper groups answer calls, which are referred to as requests for aid? With caution it seems. The Law of One (21:16-17) explains that when an entity or group calls for sincere seeking, a desire to help others, deep sorrow, or a desire for understanding — like with Maldek around 46,000 years ago (Law of One, 21:16-17) — they emit a frequency that STO helper groups recognize as requests for love/light (spiritual energy). Their responses are often in subtle form but can also be in tangible form too:
- Synchronicities – Encounters and circumstances that seem like coincidences but are purposefully orchestrated by our higher selves, as each entity will receive the opportunity it needs (Law of One: 8:0, 36:7, 41:22).
- Dreams and Inspiration – Insights in the dream state or a sudden aha! moment (Law of One: 14:25, 86:7).
- Coded Information – Philosophical frameworks or the impression of information through channels that require the caller to do the work of interpretation and application (Law of One, 22:19).
- Advanced Technology – Advanced technology like crafts for peaceful purposes (Law of One: 8:6, 22:25) although, it’s said that advanced tech has occasionally been given away naively in folly.
Perhaps the more we ask an STO helper group to fix our lives, the less they can do, as that would infringe on our free will. But the more we ask for the wisdom and tools to fix our lives, the more love/light they can provide.
Negative Manipulation
Our research suggests that guides and galactic federations (helper groups) who facilitate fear through service to self (STS) do not always use brute force to gain control of entities. STS helper groups are considered much more clever — presenting themselves as wise saviors, tricking entities under false pretenses, and recruiting entities from the shadows, as explained by the Law of One (87:15-16). They tend to act through manipulation and simple distortions of the mind (Law of One, 53:11) in order to bypass free will.
The Law of One suggests that STS helper groups operate through a bidding (enslavement) process (55:3-7). For example, when an entity desires power, control, or elite status, they emit a vibrational frequency that STS groups recognize as a call for assistance. Once the call is received, an entity from an STS helper group responds to the caller with an offer. This could include providing the caller with:
- Secret Information – Occult or insider knowledge (Law of One, 12:13) and commandments (Law of One, 16:15).
- The Promise of Power – Advanced technology (Law of One, 11:21) and tools to manipulate others more effectively.
In the STS hierarchal structure, there’s always a bigger fish and a top dog. As the Law of One (55:4-6) explains, by accepting the power offered by these bigger fish, callers would knowingly or unknowingly enter into a master-servant relationship. A caller could think they’re using a bigger fish to get what they want. In reality, the bigger fish would be using the caller as a puppet to increase their power.
On the STS ascension path, power is always on loan. According to the Law of One (87:15-16), entities bid for power by offering their services to those above them (bigger fish), creating a chain of command or pecking order. The Law of One further suggests that the goal of a bigger fish is to polarize (commit) a caller to the point they become harvestable. By getting the caller to do its bidding — which usually involves spreading fear, division, or elitism — the bigger fish bolsters its negative polarity or power ranking within the STS hierarchal structure (55:3, 87:15-16). No worries though fellow souls. We take comfort in the knowledge that all ascension paths lead to Source.
The Road to Hell is Paved With Good Intentions
Sometimes the best intentions can lead to unexpected outcomes. Let us consider what happened to Moishe (Moses in The Bible). According to the Law of One (16:15-19), Moses — who resonated with the service to others (STO) disposition — was manipulated by entities who resonated with the service to self (STS) disposition. Even though Moses had the best intentions, manipulation ultimately led to the negativity associated with the Ten Commandments in The Bible (Exodus 20:1-17).
The Law of One explains that the origin of the Ten Commandments follows the law of STS entities impressing information on STO-oriented entities (16:15-20). So while the Ten Commandments does contain positive recommendations for living a moral life — including honoring our parents, refraining from stealing, and refraining from lying — most of it is cloaked in fear-based language. It frequently uses the negative-oriented phrase, Thou shalt not, and refers to Source as being a vengeful, jealous God. Ergo, the information attempts to promote positivity while retaining negative characteristics.
This begs the question fellow souls. If love is only possible when there’s a choice (Bhagavad Gita: 9:2, 18:63), then how much weight should forceful, fear-based, commandments and man-made laws carry? Even The Bible explains that the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John: 1:17). This suggests there is a clear distinction between the laws of man and Source’s absolute truth. Perhaps this is also why The Bible (Matthew, 7:15) emphasizes that we beware of false prophets and wolves in sheep’s clothing.
With that in mind, we’re setting the intention to stay grounded in the present and to maintain a positive, loving, empathetic mindset, as BK Shivani (Spiritual Teacher) often mentions. Doing so will enable us to overcome the effects of any negative influence that we may encounter.
