What Is Tuning and Balancing Energy?

What Are Energy Center Blockages?
Imbalance of Vital Subtle Energies
Because energy centers (chakras) are associated with certain endocrine glands and consciousness levels, as explained by Laura Berman, Ph.D (Love, Sex, and Relationship Therapist), our experiences can impact our energy centers to cause blockages. What are energy center blockages? The term blockage is used to describe certain conditions, specifically when energy centers do not have a balance between negatively polarized, magnetic subtle energy (feminine) and positively polarized, electric subtle energy (masculine). So when there is an imbalance, an energy center can become blocked, meaning energy is unable to freely flow in and out.
What are signs of blocked energy? According to Arhanta Yoga, physical or emotional issues — like feeling depressed — can be a result of blocked energy centers. The Law of One (15:12) explains that those with blockages in the lower energy centers (root, sacral, and solar plexus) will have trouble seeking Source, often having distortions (extreme reactions and biases) related to the ego. In our experience, heart energy center blockages can manifest as difficulties in expressing universal love and compassion while throat energy center blockages often manifest as communication difficulties. Third eye energy center blockages often include diminished intuition and feeling self-doubt.
As Sarah Elkhaldy (Spiritual Teacher & Energy Healer) explains, when our intuition (feminine hemisphere) and intellect (masculine hemisphere) is imbalanced it does not create equilibrium. And if we’re imbalanced — because our intuition is overpowered by our logical mind or our intellect is overpowered by our intuition — we will not be able to create the equilibrium that allows the third eye energy center (pineal gland) to activate (open).
Why do energy centers become blocked? For us, the biggest reasons are stress, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating habits, self-destructive behavior, and unresolved trauma. This is corroborated by the Law of One (46:9) which explains that repressing, ignoring, or not processing destructive thoughts and trauma could cause stress to our energy centers. This stress could result in energy blockages, destructive and manipulative behavior, and even physical illnesses like cancer (Law of One, 46:7-16) — creating a vicious cycle of negativity. Edgar Cayce Readings (257-249) corroborate this explaining that the body will remove disturbances if we allow it and not consciously or unconsciously hold on to them.
Energy Centers As Processors
We resonate with the concept that our energy systems manage the energetic residue of our traumatic experiences. This residue is essentially stored or manifested as blockages in the lower energy centers (root, sacral, and solar plexus). For example, trauma related to safety and survival is said to be stored in the root energy center. And trauma related to shame and anger is said to be stored in the solar plexus energy center. Ergo, anger-related trauma stored in our solar plexus energy center can manifest into destructive behavior like throwing objects. Why is this?
Aaron Abke (Spiritual Teacher) explains that a blocked entity or entity storing trauma is not processing their vital subtle energy or life force energy (prana) efficiently. He suggests that the vital subtle energy they’re circulating is being distorted and rerouted based on their trauma, habits, and triggers. And when this happens, it distorts their perceptions and actions, causing them to react negatively versus respond positively. Does this sound familiar?
Since energy centers are all interrelated, when one is blocked, it can also block the flow of vital subtle energy to other energy centers. Specifically, if we have blockages (e.g. fear, anger) in our lower energy centers, they will restrict the upward flow of vital subtle energy to our higher energy centers (heart, throat, and third eye). This keeps us anchored in the 3rd density illusion and our gross material reality.
For example, if we have a blocked solar plexus energy center then we could become narcissistic, which could block vital subtle energy to our heart energy center making us less compassionate. In this sense, perhaps energy centers are like energetic defense systems. Meaning, upper energy centers are simply closed off to negative experiences and trauma, blocking vital subtle energy from penetrating and rising.
The gist is that energy blockages could lead to serious emotional and physical consequences, like cancerous growths, if not processed, according to the Law of One (40:12-13). They can also prevent us from accessing higher consciousness levels. Energy blockages also affect our overall vibrational frequency, specifically the crown energy center. This is because the crown energy center reflects the overall level of harmony between all six lower energy centers, as explained by the Law of One (15:12). We think of it as our vibrational thermometer.
An energy blockage is when energy centers do not have a balance between negatively polarized, magnetic subtle energy (feminine) and positively polarized, electric subtle energy (masculine), resulting in a lack of energy flow to other energy centers.
Balancing Energy Centers
What is Balancing Energy Centers?
The Law of One (18:5, 82:3) explains that balancing energy centers involves examining our emotionally charged life experiences, identifying extreme reactions and biases (distortions) — mainly in the lower energy centers — and consciously balancing those distortions with their opposites. This clears blockages which allows energy to flow freely from one energy center to another. The goal is for our minds to become equanimous so that we respond to all circumstances with love instead of bias or automatic reactivity (Law of One, 42:2-10).
Aaron Abke (Spiritual Teacher) elaborates on this through his electromagnetic SQ framework, explaining that balancing energy centers refers to balancing our negatively polarized, magnetic energy and positively polarized, electric energy. Consider this fellow souls. In its unawakened state, vital life force energy is divided into dual, opposing channels — the feminine/magnetic (ida) and masculine/electric (pingala). When lower energy center blockages like fear, trauma, or egoic resistance disrupt this flow, the energy is said to leak sideways into habitual triggers and emotional reactivity rather than rising upward.
Clearing these blockages allows these opposing forces to reconcile and harmonize into the central channel (sushumna) as a single, unified, non-dual current of kundalini or intelligent energy. From there, it can ascend to the heart energy center.
We think of the lower energy centers as a filtration system. Meaning, if the root filter is clogged with mud (fear), water can not get to the sacral filter. But if the root filter is clear and the sacral filter is clogged with rust (power struggles), the water bursts out sideways instead of flowing through to the solar plexus filter. Only when all three filters are clean to a minimal degree can the water flow through to fill the heart reservoir. This suggests that each filter (energy center) only has be clean (balanced) to a minimal degree in order for water (vital subtle energy) to flow through.
How Do We Know if We Are Balanced?
The Law of One (15:9) explains that in a balanced entity, energy centers are functioning brightly and fully. For those on the service to others (STO) path, this means that rather than acting through emotional reactivity, bias, or feelings of separation, we observe situations as they truly are without being blinded by illusion. Because we recognize the unity of all things and perceive Source within everything and everyone, our response to any circumstance will always be unconditional love imbued with wisdom.
What does being balanced feel like? When our root energy center is balanced, we feel absolute safety in the present moment. For the sacral energy center, we tend to have more harmonious one-on-one connections. And for the solar plexus energy center we tend to feel more collaborative, surrendering our egos. It’s said that the upper energy centers (heart, throat, and third eye) do not need the same kind of balancing or shadow work as the lower energy centers. But they must still be actively balanced through expression, relationship, and service.
What happens as our lower energy centers become balanced? Once the lower energy centers are cleared of distortions, a single, undistorted, unified, non-dual, vital life force energy flow can be awakened — uniting the feminine and masculine principles into a coherent upward flow. This is commonly referred to as kundalini energy or intelligent energy. It’s also said that as our energy centers become balanced, we build a coherent, electromagnetic energy field (aura) that radiates our spiritual maturity and interacts with intelligent infinity. This determines if we resonate with serving others (STO) versus serving ourselves (STS) — a distinction that’s typically determined in 3rd density.
Balancing energy centers involves examining our emotionally charged life experiences, identifying extreme reactions and biases, and consciously neutralizing or balancing those distortions with their polar opposites.
Activating Energy Centers
What is Activating Energy Centers?
Based on our understanding of the Law of One, activation is the upward progression of unified vital subtle energy or intelligent energy through the energy centers once they’re clear and unblocked. These cleared pathways allow vital subtle energy to rise through the heart energy center and fully engage the other upper energy centers. So when we refer to activating an energy center, we are speaking of the process where an energy center is opened to allow vital subtle energy to flow in and out.
Aaron Abke explains that for human beings and entities like us, the lower energy centers are already activated for the 3rd density experience. They simply need to be balanced. Once this happens, it can trigger the opening or activation of the upper energy centers. While the lower energy centers act as storage and filtration systems for both negatively and positively charged energy that require active unblocking, the upper energy centers are said to be naturally closed off to any imbalanced energy rather than hoard it.
Does this mean that the upper energy centers only open to allow unified vital subtle energy to flow through? It’s suggested that only unified, balanced energy flows through the heart energy center while both balanced and unbalanced energy can penetrate the third eye energy center. This is because those on the service to self (STS) path tend to bypass the heart and throat energy centers (Law of One, 54:25) to tap into the third eye energy center and intelligent infinity (pure consciousness).
Essentially, those traversing the service to self path tend to reject universal love and compassion. Loving others makes it harder to control, manipulate, and enslave, right? Ergo, they view love and compassion as a weakness. So instead of using the heart energy center as a bridge between the upper and lower energy centers, they use their will power, egoistic control, and mastery of the lower energy centers to serve as a temporary bridge, which allows them to tap into the third eye energy center.
We say temporary bridge because at some point during 6th density the heart energy center will need to be activated to at least 51% (Law of One, 17:31- 34) in order to progress further into 6th density consciousness and environments. This is because 6th density is all about blending 4th density love/compassion and 5th density wisdom into a unified understanding of love and compassion viewed with wisdom (Law of One: 33:20, 78:25).
The Activation Process & Tuning
Is the activation process sequential? What if the activation process is not entirely sequential, where one energy center has to be activated before the next? Perhaps activation is more cumulative and layered. For example, it’s thought that once we balance the root, sacral, solar plexus, and throat to the minimum degree necessary — with optional heart activation if resonating with the service to others (STO) path – we can move into third eye work, according to the Law of One (40:4, 41:19, 54:15, 75:23). Perhaps this is when unified, balanced vital subtle energy can act as a transformative fire, burning up karmic seeds to prevent them from manifesting in future lives.
Could moving into indigo work also be synonymous with the Law of One’s (47:13, 63:18-23, 66:7) concept of doubly or dual-activated bodies? In essence, a dual-activated body is one where an entity is simultaneously mastering the lessons of two distinct stages of spiritual evolution. Doing so leads to a much faster and intense ascension through the consciousness levels. The example the Law of One provides is when a wanderer starts to rapidly work with the green ray body or heart energy center (love), they often find their blue ray body or throat energy center (communication) activated almost immediately.
What happens once all the necessary centers are activated to the minimum degree? The Law of One (40:4, 54:14-16) explains that once all necessary energy centers are activated to the minimal degree necessary for us to perform our spiritual work and material maintenance, our focus shifts toward maintaining harmony and balance across our entire energy system. The Law of One equates this to energy center tuning, relating energy centers to guitar strings. In this sense, each energy center is a guitar string that needs to be tuned to a specific frequency so that it plays in harmony with the other energy centers or strings.
Maximum Energy Center Activation
What about fully balancing and activating all energy centers? Is this possible? While possible, the Law of One (40:4, 75:35) explains that fully balancing and activating each energy center is rare. But there is one who was said to have done just that — having complete mastery over the energy system. Sadhguru Sri Brahma (Yogi, Mystic & Siddha, 1878-1920ish) was said to have left his gross physical body through all of the energy centers at Seventh Hill, Velliangiri Mountains. Having complete mastery over the energy system is often called chakreshwara or a total-spectrum mahasamadhi.
Consider this fellow souls. With a normal death or exit from the gross physical body, unliberated souls typically exit through the lower energy centers, leaving the gross physical body as a discarded shell. During mahasamadhi, liberated souls are said to exit through the sushumna energy channel out of the crown energy center, also leaving the gross physical body as a discarded shell. Sadhguru Sri Brahma, on the other hand, was said to have exited the gross physical body through all seven energy centers simultaneously, rather than exiting through a single point. It’s said that his consciousness expanded so quickly that it essentially obliterated his entire gross physical body.
Think about that for a second fellow souls. When Sadhguru Sri Brahma made his exit, he basically turned his entire physical being into a massive energetic explosion. Our research suggests that the explosion at Seventh Hill left an intense, vibrational imprint in the ether. This intense, vibrational imprint essentially turned Seventh Hill into a consecrated altar or energy funnel for those seeking to clear their energy systems — which is definitely a bucket list item for us! Sadhguru Sri Brahma’s exit was epic, right? He refined his energy system to such an extent that it could no longer be contained in his gross physical body. Now that’s how to make an exit!
How To Balance and Activate Energy Centers
Taking a Collaborative Approach
Can we clear energy blockages just by thinking them away? Based on our research, clearing our energy centers isn’t simply a top-down or bottom-up approach. It’s thought of as a collaborative effort between Source’s grace or divine light (downward sustaining) and our willpower and spiritual energy (upward seeking).
Consider this fellow souls. In physics, every object has a resonant frequency. If we subject an object to a vibration that matches its natural frequency, it will begin to vibrate with it. But what happens if we subject a rigid structure (like an energy blockage) to a much higher, more coherent frequency? Will that structure eventually shatter?
If energy blockages are considered rigid, low-vibrational structures and our thinking minds are also considered low-vibrational structures, then wouldn’t it be difficult to clear energy blockages using just the thinking mind since the vibrations would be similar? It would be like trying to clean a stain (energy blockage) from a shirt (energy center) with a sponge (the mind) but no soap (divine light) or water (spiritual energy).
Perhaps this is why a collaborative approach is seen as more effective. For us, this means awareness, focused thoughts, affirmations, meditating, and shadow work. Let’s dive in deeper to some of these concepts!
Grace + Willpower + Unified Vital Subtle Energy
The downward flow of Source’s grace is often associated with the in-pouring of stepped down, high-frequency divine light, also referred to as spiritual energy or love/light. Love/light is considered our sustaining energy deriving from the north pole or upper energy centers. What if this energy vibrates at a frequency that’s naturally incompatible with the low-vibrational energy of an energy blockage? Much like an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner uses high-vibrational sound waves to shake dirt off of a ring, perhaps as we focus the mind in meditation and silence (Bhagavad Gita, 6:10-15) love/light can flow down, vibrating against our energy blockages. This friction is said to loosen energy blockages.
The upward seeking flow of willpower is often associated with the kundalini process — unifying our upward seeking, vital subtle energy or life force energy polarities (masculine and feminine). Essentially, as we perform inner shadow work (Law of One, 40:12-13, 49:6), it’s said that we’re clearing and balancing our lower energy centers so that polarized vital subtle energy can ascend upward. When it hits an energy blockage — like fear in the root energy center — it exerts pressure on the blockage to rise. This process can feel intense because our pesky egos tend to resist.
Why are these two forces (upward and downward) important when clearing energy blockages? If we only had the upward pressure, perhaps the climb would be too exhausting and slow. If we only had the downward vibration, perhaps the blockages would loosen but wouldn’t have the propulsion to be cleared out of our energy system.
What happens after the clearing process has finished? Our energy centers can operate optimally and our electromagnetic energy fields (auras) can become transparent. Ergo, we’re no longer unliberated souls struggling to radiate pure spiritual energy or love/light. We are clear conduits, meaning spiritual energy can pour in and radiate out clearly and unobstructed.
Performing Shadow Work
We resonate with the concept that our subtle energy flow is intimately linked to our state of mind. Ergo, when the mind is clear, calm, and focused it’s more likely to uncover or bring into awareness the triggers, emotional wounds, negative attitudes, and buried trauma our shadows are holding on too. Ergo, the first step for us in balancing energy centers is to calm the mind, typically through meditation and yogic practices. Once our minds are calm, we can move to the second step which is to make the unconscious conscious.
Sarah Elkhaldy explains that by becoming conscious of the defense mechanisms and emotional states we use to protect us from our shadows, we are setting the process in motion to integrate and process our buried trauma. Some of these defense mechanisms and emotional states include denial, projection, deflecting, avoidance, identifying as a victim, pride, anger, fear, sadness, and shame. The key is to see these mechanisms and states for what they really are — feedback mechanisms and guides that are communicating our trauma and what remains unconscious inside us.
No, calming the mind and performing shadow work is not an easy feat. But once we can acknowledge what’s buried inside of us, then we can begin to process (heal, forgive, let go) and integrate it into our consciousness. Once this happens, then the mind can become clearer and direct the energy system (energy centers, nadis, energy fields) for optimum energy flow.
Performing Affirmations and Antidotes
Another practice that resonates with us to clear blockages and activate upper energy centers is using affirmations. Christina Lopes (DPT, MPH & Heart Alchemist) suggests repeating, “I lovingly command my [energy center] to [decrease or increase] in size and return to its normal flow”, followed by body movements. Another practice that resonates with us is using antidotes, as Aaron Abke suggests in his SQ framework.
Aaron Abke explains that the upper energy centers (heart, throat, and third eye) do not require the rigorous balancing or shadow work applied to the lower energy centers because they simply close off to distortions and negativity rather than hoarding it. Even though they do not hoard negative energy, the upper energy centers still require conscious maintenance to remain aligned. In our experience, we do this through daily practices of love, truth, and service to others which ensures that the harmonious energy flowing up from the lower energy centers is properly expressed and sustained.
What about the lower energy centers? The lower energy centers do need balancing and often have blockages. And these blockages have certain attributes or qualities. But we can counter each attribute with its opposite or polarity. What’s interesting about Aaron’s SQ framework is that each lower energy center blockage attribute appears to coincide with an attribute of the upper energy centers. Below is our understanding of the lower energy center blockage attributes and their antidotes.
- Root Energy Center (Survival Blockages): Blockages at the very base of the spine are often attributed to lack, fear, insecurity, reactivity, apathy, unworthiness, and trauma. They prevent the cosmic current from entering our energy systems. These attributes can be countered with understanding (Law of One, 15:12), acceptance, gratitude, faith, presence, joy, and sovereignty.
- Sacral Energy Center (Personal/Interpersonal Blockages): Blockages here are often attributed to resistance or control, ego or shame, insecurity, jealousy, addiction, and repression. They can be countered with balance, wisdom, compassion, integrity, and communication.
- Solar Plexus Energy Center (Social/Group Blockages): Blockages here are often attributed to ego, control, power, manipulation, victimhood, jealousy, pride, and projection. This is where most of us get bottlenecked. These attributes can be countered by intuition, authenticity, service, humility, and self-awareness.
Receiving Energy Upgrades
Sarah Elkhaldy explains that we can receive upgrades, integrations, or activations (energy field optimizations) through the great central sun and our local suns. Upgrades are like organic software updates that are done through neuroplasticity. They transmit their spiritual essence (light, photons) to our energy fields which distributes these upgrades to our gross physical bodies. This spiritual essence essentially increases our capacity to hold vital subtle energy (consciousness densities) and experience different realities (environmental densities).
Essentially, upgrades repattern our etheric template or indigo ray body and create a new resonance in the morphic etheric field. Our indigo ray body is considered our form-maker body (Law of One: 47:8-15, 48:7, 66:14), meaning it’s the template for our gross physical body. Perhaps as our spiritual awareness increases –> our vital subtle energy grows or becomes more potent –> our nervous system rewires –> our DNA activates –> and our electromagnetic energy field reconfigures so we can process more energy.
Could the pyramids facilitate energy upgrades? Just like Seventh Hill is considered a consecrated alter that helps to balance energy systems, there’s also growing evidence that both ancient and modern pyramids could serve as balancing energy structures (Law of One, 14:7-10). For example, physicists have recently discovered that the Pyramids of Giza can concentrate electromagnetic energy. The Law of One (2:4) also suggests that the pyramids were built to help elongate the aging process and facilitate divine acts such as healing, resurrection, and interdimensional travel.
Our research also suggests that these types of pyramids were strategically built in certain areas with the help of entities both of and not of Earth. This seems to be in contrast with the mainstream scientific community, which asserts that ancient pyramid construction was solely human labor. The Law of One (23:6) explains that the Great Pyramid was thought into existence thousands of years ago by the 6th density social memory complex referred to as Ra. But, along with many other pyramids built during that time, it eventually came to be used for power and corruption.
There were 6 balancing and 52 healing pyramids built, according to the Law of One (14:6-10). However, it’s said that most pyramids are no longer aligned properly for balancing planetary energy (Law of One, 57:13).
