What Are the Lessons for Each Consciousness Level?

Consciousness Level = Grade Level

Based on our research, consciousness levels correlate to the bodies we activate, the lessons we learn, and the planes of existence we inhabit/perceive. These lessons typically take place in galaxies, or what we refer to as galactic school systems. According to Unlocking the Soul, once we learn our necessary lessons and put in enough work for an incarnation or particular consciousness level, then we’re eligible to graduate (ascend) to a higher consciousness level or sub-level (Law of One, 17:32-35). Like most school systems, if we haven’t put in enough work to learn the necessary lessons, then we typically repeat the grade — begin a new cycle of incarnations.

Where we continue our education seems to be based on the classrooms or planets that are available at that time that are teaching our particular lessons or are conducive to our particular goals. And at some point during our education we’ll need to declare a major, right? The Law of One refers to this as The Choice — choosing between two ascension or spiritual dispositions: service to others (STO) and service to self (STS). If we’re unable to make a decision with enough will or intensity, the Law of One explains that we can spend more time on a 3rd-density planet to make a decision.

Catalysts As Motivation

Where do catalysts fit in? According to the Law of One (54:24), the primary purpose of incarnations is to help us spiritually evolve. This can be achieved with a little help from our friends, catalysts. Ever notice that when certain events happen in our lives, they can act as a tipping point for us to take action? Essentially, catalysts are designed for this — to offer experiences, as explained by the Law of One (46:16). Ergo, they can give us the kick in the pants and motivation we need to keep progressing. We’ve all experienced catalysts in one form or another. Oftentimes they’re uniquely tailored and programmed by our higher selves and spiritual guides to meet specific requirements.

Does the nature of catalystic programming vary based on our chosen polarity? For example, STO entities could pre-program conditions — like physical pain — to act as a corrective signal if they stray from their paths (Law of One, 54:21). We’ve experienced this firsthand after straying from our diets and battling kidney stones. Conversely, STS entities could program for wealth, power, and ease to maximize their control over others. They could also choose intense catalysts like anger and hatred to deepen their commitment, according to the Law of One (54:22).

As explained by the Law of One (46:9-16), catalysts can either be accepted or controlled. It further explains that they must be consciously processed and integrated by the mind complex to be effective. If they’re ignored or suppressed, the negative energy could filter through to our body complex and manifest as a physical illness, like cancer. Ergo, the more efficiently we use catalysts to learn our spiritual lessons, the less physical distortions we’ll experience. Ultimately, any unused catalyst or any catalyst that fails in its design is recycled. This means it will continue to manifest until we form a definitive bias to either accept or control it, according to the Law of One (46:16).

Level 1 Consciousness Lessons

Level 1 consciousness is considered the simplest form of existence (Law of One, 30:5). Subatomic particles and elements (earth, air, fire, and water) learn to move at random and find a sense of ordered awareness. For example, a rock learns to be a rock and water learns to flow. The goal is to achieve enough stability and desire to move to an awareness level where growth and movement are possible. This level is said to be roughly 2 billion years on Earth.

Level 2 Consciousness Lessons

Level 2 consciousness is about learning the lessons of movement, reproduction, and growth rather than random change. Consciousness moves from being static (e.g. mineral) to being dynamic. For example, plants seek light, and animals learn to seek food and avoid predators. This can be done as a mind/body complex.

At the peak of this level of awareness an entity, like a pet or tree, can begin to move from group consciousness (hive or wolfpack mentality) toward individualized consciousness. Entities strive towards being personified to individuality by level 3 consciousness entities (Law of One: 14:1, 19:2) — developing a sense of self awareness, ego, or “I” strong enough to activate their spirit complex. This level of awareness is said to be more active and lasts billions of years as life becomes more complex.

Level 3 Consciousness Lessons

Level 3 consciousness is about learning the lessons of self-awareness and independence – being able to identify oneself in relation to others, also synonymous with ego, and learning to make conscious decisions. It’s subject to the veil of amnesia and The Choice (Law of One, 30:5). Our research suggests that one of the core rules of this level of awareness is that Source must be able to experience itself through entities who have no proof of Source’s existence. It’s our free will and the veil of amnesia that makes this possible. It’s also what makes our choices meaningful.

Essentially, at this level of awareness we must choose between two ascension or spiritual dispositions: service to others (STO) and service to self (STS), as explained by the Law of One (76:16). Think of these polarities as opposite ends of the same evolutionary spectrum — both paths lead back to Source.

Service to others is about fostering love, unity, and collaboration — prioritizing collective growth, the well-being of others, and the greater good. Service to self is about fostering personal power, control, and self-interest, oftentimes at the expense of others. While STO and STS are often categorized as good and bad or positive and negative, the Law of One emphasizes that both dispositions offer the opportunity for us to understand and embody the unity of all existence (7:17). It’s just that it may take STS entities longer to grasp the concept of unity since they tend to resist two necessary components: love and compassion. The choice we make is said to dictate our ascension path, influencing how we learn, interact, and evolve through subsequent densities moving forward (Law of One, 76:16).

We typically make the polarity choice on 3rd-density planets like Earth where bright and dark paths always exist (Bhagavad Gita, 8:23-26). For a service to others (STO) graduation, we must be at least 51% polarized (committed) to love, collaboration, and unity. For a service to self (STS) graduation, we must be at least 95% polarized to fear and separation. Keep in mind that achieving a 95% commitment is considered rare. According to the Law of One (11:9), Genghis Khan was one of the few who reached 95%. Surprisingly, Adolf Hitler (35:4-5) did not. Was it because Hitler actually believed he was serving the greater good?

Those who don’t fall into either category — often referred to as the sinkhole of indifference or colorless stupidity of indifference (Tibetan Book of the Dead, 36) — will need to repeat 3rd density on a 3rd-density planet. It’s said that level 3 consciousness Earth entities have had roughly 75,000 years to make the choice. This is typically done as mind/body/spirit complexes.

Level 4 Consciousness Lessons

Level 4 consciousness is about learning the lessons of love, compassion, and understanding — whether it be towards oneself or others, as explained by the Law of One (20:36). For STO entities the goal is to open the heart energy center and learn to love everything without judgment — which is measured by the amount of light we’ve integrated (Law of One, 47:6). This can sometimes lead to a love without wisdom mentality where we lack the discernment to see the bigger picture. This can lead to entities being easily manipulated or being treated as a doormat.

For STS entities, the goal is to establish a place in the STS order of authority or power hierarchy. This can result in being cold and grudgeful to others, according to the Law of One (48:6).

Learning can be done through multiple incarnations (Law of One, 43:12) as a mind/body/spirit complex or a social memory complex. As a social memory complex, entities are part of a collective of communal feeling where everyone feels everyone else’s emotions. In this context, perhaps unity is achieved because everyone feels the same. Typically lifespans are approximately 90,000 years, with a cycle of experience being 30 million years, as measured by our time (Law of One, 43:11-13).

Level 5 Consciousness Lessons

Level 5 consciousness is all about refining our knowledge and discernment or wisdom (Law of One, 25:11) to complement the love learned in 4th density — understanding that we’re both independent entities and sparks of the divine. The goal is to make wiser decisions that are for the highest outcome for everyone. Entities learn to express the absolute truth with perfect honesty and clarity.

For STS entities, this can sometimes lead to a wisdom without love mentality — where we lack the empathy to communicate with compassion. It could also lead to entities refining wisdom and power so they can exert control over lower consciousness entities until they reach absolute power (Law of One, 87:6-7). The Law of One (87:8, 87:12-16) also explains that any organization which demands obedience without question on the basis of relative power is functioning based on a service to self agenda. Think about that for a second, fellow souls. This sounds a lot like some militaristic, hierarchal systems based on a pecking order.

Learning and sharing wisdom can be done as a wanderer, social memory complex, or mind/body/spirit complex. In this context, perhaps unity is achieved because everyone sees the same reality. However, because wanderers run the risk of forgetting their mission and becoming karmically involved in 3rd density, there is said to be very few STS wanderers at this stage. They simply fear forgetting all the wisdom they’ve accumulated (Law of One, 48:6).

Level 6 Consciousness Lessons

Level 6 consciousness is about unity and accepting the oneness of the material universe. It’s thought that before we reach this level, we’re typically biased towards either love or wisdom. Either we love so much that we’re an ineffective doormat without healthy boundaries or we’re incredibly wise but lack empathy and compassion. Ergo, the goal at this level of awareness is to balance love and wisdom so there’s a unified understanding of love viewed with wisdom in our actions and intentions, according to the Law of One (33:20). Is this synonymous with balancing our feminine and masculine principles?

It’s suggested that once love and wisdom are balanced through discipline, our energy systems flash into a new configuration, opening the gateway to intelligent infinity (pure consciousness) or level 7 consciousness. It can take those who resonate with serving themselves (STS) longer to learn the lesson of unity. But all paths eventually lead to Source (Law of One, 71:12-13) because during the later half of level 6 consciousness, polarities merge.

Think about that for a second fellow souls. Perhaps there are no longer any polarities because wisdom can’t be balanced with negative love. So in order for us to ascend any further, those on the service to self (STS) ascension path must open their heart energy centers, effectively switching to the service to others (STO) ascension path. As the Law of One (7:17) so eloquently explains, to serve oneself and to serve others is a dual method of saying the same thing if one understands the essence of the Law of One — All is One Through Unity.

Level 7 Consciousness Lessons

Level 7 consciousness is considered a state of pure being and nearly total integration. It’s thought to be the final stage of the spiritual journey before a new octave of experience begins. Unlike previous levels, it’s thought that there are no further lessons to be learned for an octave.
